WOW Bali has redefined social entrepreneuship to become social-holistic (SO-HO) in recognition of the holistic social dimension of business development for it to support real efforts in sustainability. Entrepreneurial models have reached new heights in sharing prosperity with communities, producers, and farmers. Organic production, however, has to be redefined for real sustainability; otherwise, modern organic lifestyle advocates can be just another business middleman making organic farming unsustainable for local farmers.

Regional sustainability models and regenerative solutions for organic and ecological production have to be redefined in order for organic productization to be effective in ecological conservation and affective for the producers at the same time. This is holistic thinking.

Social-Holistic (SO-HO) Entrepreneurship

ANGELO STORE

WOW Bali is looking into case studies to support this new framework for social-holistic entrepreneurships. One of such local businesses is Angelo Store located in Ubud, Bali that specializes in home-made natural and herbal personal skin care and aromatherapy products.

Angelo Store is a family business, a home industry with a commitment to "share, care and be positive". Unlike any other businesses who keeps trade secrets, Angelo shares his family's heritage of making natural herbal products as well as traditional healing and beauty treatments as a way of giving back and doing positive things in his community-- a basic requirement in sustainability.

The use of chemical products is prohibited in the process of production in this small home industry. The natural herbs are locally grown in Bali.

WOW Bali is looking to partner with local entrepreneurs like Angelo who have holistic business sense and considers not only the health of his own business but also that of his community.

FAT RADISH SEED SAVING COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE (CSA)

Seed saving allows the creation of a community-- the mere act of sharing and exchanging seeds for farmers to grow starts the process of community building. And it does not end there: farmers are also encouraged to share their farming techniques, their "secret" process by simply exchanging information.

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) Project in collaboration with Fat Radish (a permaculture and seed saving organization) and Kerta Generations Youth Organization aimed at bringing affordable and sustainable organic vegetables to every home. Learn more about the WOW Bali- CSA - Kerta Generations Collaboration Project.
